Missing overtime pay on my paycheck

Short answer

Under federal FLSA, non-exempt employees earn 1.5× their regular rate over 40 hours per workweek. Some states require daily overtime. If overtime is missing, ask payroll for the hours breakdown and your classification.

How to figure out which cause is yours

  1. Find a recent paycheck where this looked normal.
  2. Compare the two stubs line by line. The Paycheck Comparison tool does this for you.
  3. Identify the line(s) that changed — that is almost always the answer.
  4. Use the Ask Payroll Generator to send a polite question.
