Trust, limitations & how this works.

PayslipIQ USA is a paycheck education tool. It explains what the numbers on a pay stub usually mean. It does not certify payroll accuracy, determine legal violations, or replace professional advice.

What PayslipIQ does

  • Reads or accepts the figures from a pay stub.
  • Organises gross pay, federal withholding, FICA, state and local tax, deductions, overtime, benefits, and net pay into a clean report.
  • Explains what each line usually means in plain English.
  • Flags items that may be worth a closer look or a question to payroll.
  • Drafts a polite, specific message to send to payroll.
  • Links to official IRS, SSA, U.S. Department of Labor, and state revenue/labor sources where useful.

What PayslipIQ does not do

  • It does not give legal, tax, accounting, payroll, employment, credit, or financial advice.
  • It does not certify payroll accuracy or verify income.
  • It does not determine that your employer broke the law, that you are owed money, or that a refund is due.
  • It is not a substitute for tax software, a CPA, an enrolled agent, an attorney, or your payroll department.
  • It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

Upload safety

Pay stubs contain sensitive information. PayslipIQ does not need your full Social Security number, bank account or routing numbers, full address, employee ID, or QR/barcodes to explain a pay stub.

Before uploading a pay stub image or PDF, cover or crop:

  • Full Social Security number (SSN). The last four digits are typically enough context.
  • Bank account or routing numbers.
  • Full home address.
  • Employee ID, employer reference numbers.
  • QR codes and barcodes.
  • Any personal identifiers you don't want processed.

If you are not comfortable uploading anything, use the manual entry option — type the numbers yourself, no file required.

Data handling

Treat anything uploaded as if it could be retained. PayslipIQ stores only what is needed to operate and improve the service, in line with the Privacy Policy. We do not sell or share pay stub uploads with third parties for advertising, employment screening, tenant screening, or credit decisions.

How AI is used

AI is used to organise and explain the numbers on a pay stub in plain English. AI does not verify your pay stub, prove a payroll mistake, or tell you what you are owed.

Where AI extracts figures from an uploaded image or PDF, it can misread numbers — always check extracted values before relying on any explanation.

FCRA & consumer reporting boundary

PayslipIQ USA is not a consumer reporting agency. PayslipIQ USA must not be used for employment screening, tenant screening, lending, insurance, credit, immigration, benefits eligibility, or any decision affecting a person's legal rights. Outputs are educational estimates and explanations only — they are not consumer reports under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) or any analogous state law.

If you are an employer, landlord, lender, insurer, immigration adviser, or government benefits caseworker: PayslipIQ USA is not appropriate for any decision that affects a person's legal rights, eligibility, or hiring/tenancy/credit outcome. Use a properly regulated provider for those purposes.

Limitations

PayslipIQ USA provides educational guidance only. It is not legal, tax, accounting, payroll, employment, credit, financial, or consumer reporting advice. Results are estimates based on the information you enter or upload and may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. PayslipIQ USA does not verify income, certify payroll accuracy, determine legal violations, or confirm that money is owed. PayslipIQ is independent and not affiliated with the IRS, SSA, U.S. Department of Labor, any state tax agency, employer, or payroll provider. Always confirm with your employer, payroll department, the IRS, your state labor or revenue agency, a CPA, attorney, or another qualified professional before acting.

Paycheck estimates may vary because of W-4 settings, filing status, dependents, multiple jobs, state tax, local tax, pre-tax deductions, post-tax deductions, benefits, employer payroll settings, pay frequency, bonuses, overtime, commissions, tips, garnishments, and other individual factors. Use this as a starting point, not a final answer.

PayslipIQ cannot confirm that your employer made a mistake, that tax was over-withheld, that money is owed, or that you are entitled to a refund. A flag means "worth a question" — it does not prove an error.

State and local rules can change the result. Confirm with your state revenue or labor agency.
